How much do I earn per referral?
You earn 30% of every subscription payment your referred customer makes — the first payment and every renewal, for as long as they stay a paying customer. A referred customer on the Agency plan at $249/month earns you $74.70 every month they renew. Credit top-ups, trial signups, and service purchases do not earn commission — only recurring plan payments do, so your earnings scale with the customer's retention, not their one-time top-ups.
What counts as a valid referral?
Anyone who lands on any SignalSumo page with your ?ref= link within the last 120 days and then signs up gets permanently attributed to you. If they sign up 100 days after clicking your link, they still count as your referral. The attribution is locked at signup — after that, every future payment they make earns you 30% for life. If a visitor clicks two different affiliate links before signing up, the most recent click wins.
How long is the referral cookie?
120 days. When someone clicks your link, we drop a first-party cookie in their browser that survives for four months. Even if they leave the site, come back a month later on a different page, or read a blog post before signing up, the cookie is still valid — as long as they eventually sign up on the same browser within 120 days, you get credited.
When do I get paid?
Payouts run twice a month via PayPal once your balance reaches $50. Approved commissions clear a 30-day chargeback window before they are eligible for payout — that protects the program from having to claw back money if a referred customer refunds. Once approved and past the window, they are added to your next scheduled payout batch.
Is there a cap on how much I can earn?
No. There is no earnings cap, no monthly limit, and no reduction in commission rate as your volume grows. Whether you refer 5 customers or 500, every subscription payment they make earns you 30%. Affiliates who publish reviews, tutorials, comparison articles or run niche newsletters routinely earn thousands of dollars per month once they compound a portfolio of referred customers.
What am I allowed to promote?
Anywhere with genuine audience: your blog, YouTube channel, newsletter, podcast, LinkedIn or Twitter, comparison articles, SEO forums, private communities, courses you teach, or client engagements where you legitimately recommend the tool. Anything that puts your link in front of people who might benefit from it is fair game as long as it complies with the platform's own rules.
What am I NOT allowed to do?
Do not bid on SignalSumo-brand keywords in paid search (Google Ads, Bing Ads) or use SignalSumo trademarks in ad copy. Do not stuff your link into places you do not personally control (comment spam, unsolicited email, ad networks, cookie-stuffing, iframe injection). Do not create accounts and refer yourself — the program has multi-signal self-referral detection and the commission will be voided at admin review. Do not misrepresent the product or make claims not supported by our own marketing.
Do I need a paid subscription to be an affiliate?
No. You can join with any account, including a free-tier account. Some of our most effective affiliates are consultants who recommend the tool to their clients but use their own account only occasionally. Join now, share the link, and your commission accrues to the same account regardless of your subscription status.
How do you verify a referral is real?
Every commission is reviewed by an admin before it is eligible for payout. We cross-check the referring affiliate and referred customer against four signals (email alias, signup IP, browser fingerprint, and account identity) to catch self-referrals. Legitimate friend-and-family referrals sometimes share signals (shared home wifi is common) — those get flagged for a manual look and typically approved. Suspected fraud is rejected without payout.
