Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the SignalSumo platform and services operated by SignalSumo LLC ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By registering an account, accessing the Platform, or using any of our SEO tools, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • "Platform" means the SignalSumo website at signalsumo.com and all associated web applications, APIs, tools, and services.
  • "User", "you", "your" means any individual or entity accessing or using the Platform.
  • "Content" means all text, data, reports, outputs, graphics, code, and other materials generated by or displayed on the Platform.
  • "Subscription" means a paid recurring plan granting access to premium Platform features.
  • "Credits" means consumable units used to access API-powered features such as keyword data, backlink lookups, and AI reports.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a legally binding contract to use the Platform. By using the Platform you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. The Platform is not available to users who have previously been suspended or removed from the Platform by SignalSumo.

3. Account Registration & Security

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • We reserve the right to terminate accounts that contain false, outdated, or incomplete information.
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account. Multiple account creation to circumvent plan limits is a violation of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the Platform to scrape, harvest, or extract data from third-party websites in violation of those websites' terms of service.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to artificially inflate usage metrics, game the credit system, or overwhelm our infrastructure.
  • Share account credentials with third parties or resell access to the Platform without authorisation.
  • Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to systems.
  • Use any output from the Platform to engage in spam, phishing, or other deceptive practices.
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.

5. Subscription, Billing & Cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled.
  • All prices are listed in USD and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which you are responsible for paying.
  • You authorise SignalSumo to charge your payment method on file on each renewal date.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time via Account Settings > Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
  • Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. Credits & Usage Limits

  • Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and expire at the end of each billing cycle unless stated otherwise.
  • Each plan includes a defined number of credits, crawl pages, tracked keywords, and other usage limits as described on the Pricing page.
  • SignalSumo reserves the right to throttle, suspend, or restrict your usage if it places excessive load on our infrastructure or third-party API providers beyond normal usage patterns.
  • We reserve the right to adjust plan limits with reasonable notice to accommodate changes in underlying data provider costs.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 SignalSumo's IP

The Platform, its design, source code, algorithms, trade dress, trademarks, and all content created by SignalSumo are the exclusive property of SignalSumo LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in our IP.

7.2 Your Data & Reports

You retain ownership of the URLs, keywords, and domains you submit to the Platform. The reports, analysis outputs, and data exports generated by the Platform for your account are yours to use for your own business purposes. You may not resell or redistribute Platform outputs as a standalone data product without our express written consent.

7.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or feature requests to us, you grant SignalSumo a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use and incorporate that feedback into the Platform without any obligation to you.

8. Third-Party Services & Links

The Platform integrates with and displays data from third-party sources. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or terms of service of those third-party providers. Any links to external websites are provided for convenience only; we do not endorse the content or practices of any linked site.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

9.1 No Guarantee of Results

SEO is inherently uncertain. SignalSumo provides data and tools to support your SEO decision-making. We do not guarantee any specific increase in search rankings, traffic, or revenue. Results depend on many factors outside our control, including search engine algorithm changes.

9.2 "As Is" Service

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SignalSumo's total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SignalSumo LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to the Platform, other users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform immediately ceases. Sections 7, 9, 10, and 12 of these Terms survive termination.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance.

14. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SignalSumo regarding your use of the Platform.
