About us

A catalog of marketing, SEO and web agencies where the ratings come from clients and the scores are set by hand.

Why this catalog exists

Choosing a marketing agency is a high-stakes purchase made on very little evidence. Most directories rank by whoever pays the most, most agency sites read the same, and the one question a buyer actually has — what was it like to work with these people, and are they any good at the thing they sell? — goes unanswered until the contract is signed.

This catalog is our attempt at an answer. It lists agencies by what they do, whom they do it for and where they are, and it shows two independent things next to each name: what their clients say, and what their own website says about their craft.

The two numbers on an agency page

  • The rating comes from clients. Reviews are moderated before they publish, negative reviews stay up, and the agency can reply in public underneath.
  • The SignalSumo score is ours: a mark out of 100 set by our team from public data about the agency's own website — its authority, its technical health, the organic traffic it earns — plus how complete their profile here is. It is set by a person, it carries the date it was set, and every page shows the parts it was made from. It is not a customer rating and it is never for sale.

An agency with no website yet is simply not scored, and the page says so.

How agencies get listed

Two ways. An agency signs up and creates its own page, or we compile a listing from public business-listing data — name, address, phone, services, and the ratings published there, kept in their own tab and clearly separated from reviews written here. Either way, listing is free, and the agency can claim the page and take it over at any time.

What we won't do

  • Sell position. No agency ranks higher because it pays; the sort options are the same for everyone.
  • Remove genuine negative reviews for money. Agencies reply publicly instead.
  • Sell an agency's score, or raise it because they subscribed.
  • Pass a buyer's details to anyone other than the one agency they wrote to.

Who runs it

SignalSumo LLC, the same team behind the SEO platform at signalsumo.com. The catalog is its own product with its own accounts — a SignalSumo platform account is not an account here. Questions: contact us.

How to help

If you have hired an agency, find them and write a review — the useful ones say what the work was, what it cost roughly, and what actually happened. If you run an agency, claim your page, fill in what you do, and answer the reviews you'd rather not have got. Both sides showing up is what makes a directory worth reading.
